Our Mission

The Big Stretch Dog Walking & Pet Care, located in Rutland, Vermont, is dedicated to providing top-notch pet care services for a variety of animals within a 10-mile radius. Our goal is to enhance the well-being of dogs, cats, farm animals, reptiles, and rodents by offering Loving and professional care. With a focus on Reliability, it is of upmost importance that each animal in our care is treated as if they were our own.

My Story

After graduating at the University of Vermont, I moved back home to Massachusetts for several years. While there, I began working for a local dog walking business. It was then that I realized how deep my love of animals ran. Over the years I went through many jobs but nothing made me feel the happiness and satisfaction that I experienced when working with animals. In 2023 it was finally decided that my partner and I would move back to Vermont and I would pursue my dream business!

In January of 2024 the dream came true! Since then, I have been working tirelessly to grow the business to a full time gig. Throughout 2024, while focusing on this endeavor, I was also planning a wedding (and getting married, yay!), buying a house, and working another full time job. To date, managing all the above has been my greatest accomplishment in life, making this venture all the more important to me. I get to wake up every day and look forward to seeing all my furry friends! I used to dream about having 20+ pets, and now, it's like I do! If you choose me, just know that your pet will be treated 100% as if they were my own.
